Sellers wanting us to pay

Solved Public 6 comments

I was contacted by a seller today that wanted me to pay $2.99 for a product stating "It’s just because if I give free promotion code for person, then amazon algorithm doesn’t give any volume for the seller for that purchase." Is this legal and allowed?

Hi Mellisa. It is not allowed, unless business set that way in shipping options of promotion. I did not please let me know what business is that so we could take further steps. Also, you can be removed from this promotion if you want.
Paul, here is a transcript of the communication between us. This just didn't happen to me. Several of my friends are on this site and applied for the teething necklace. When one lady responded to them, the seller was rude. Tsb Tsb08/08/2015 12:11:03Melissa Flowers, hi there! I can see you have been applied for Baltic Amber Teething Necklace promotion ! Small question , will you still be interested doing review if i ask you to pay for Baby Teething necklace 2.99 dollars? It’s just because if I give free promotion code for person, then amazon algorithm doesn’t give any volume for the seller for that purchase.I hope You understand my situation and you’ll like the necklace, for the second one i will give you 2$ promo code :) Maybe you’ll present it for someone :)I’m interested about your blog page too :) Please let me know more about it.Please let me know! Best Regards
Here is my response: Melissa Flowers08/08/2015 13:38:20I am going to pass. I do plenty of reviews for Amazon and never pay a penny for the item. This site is for free stuff in exchange for reviews, hence the term "giveaway." It is even stated on the home page as free products to review. I also got notification I was rejected from the promotion. That's not an issue as I had already stated I was NOT going to pay for it.
